What's going on?

A Sunni was chosen as the Speaker for the new Iraqi Transitional Government's Parlament. I suppose this puts to rest all their concerns that they will be left out of the process.

The Sunni clerics have also asked that Iraqi's start joining the Army and Police to help protect Iraq.

Also, Sunni insurgent leaders have started trying to end the conflict.

So who's left to fight?

From the looks of things around here (you can read about that in previous posts)....no one.

Well...there are still Jihadists around. But there are Jihadists in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Yemen, ect. So are they really here to help put out the 'occupiers'?

Yes I agree that with a Sunni chosen as Speaker, a clear message is being sent to the Arab world. We can and will work together despite our theological differences, towards a free democratic Arab country whose gov't represents all Muslims, and protects its minority citizens.

I'm not convinced that Al Zarquawi is ready to give up just yet but is great news that the insurgent leaders have started to end the conflict. Reminds me of what happened in Afghanistan....the Taliban realized it was in their best interest to work with democracy than to fight against it.

Stay safe...and keep sharing the good news!
